Episode 6: This special soul, Alyssa Martinez (IG @lilo_marz), really moved me. She’s a poet, an activist, and a hilarious young woman. Her unapologetic beliefs and her desire to school us all on important topics made me wonder - what the hell was I doing at 25 years old? Even now, I’m scared to speak up about issues I care deeply about. But never mind that, people like Alyssa are the future, and I’m glad to share this important conversation with you, with plenty of silly moments debating how outside we need to be, regardless of age.
Episode 7: This chat stars Allie Dietzek (Substack
), a futurist, who spends her time imagining possible futures. I know what you’re thinking. Like, what does that even mean? I wondered the same, and it made for a really intriguing conversation. It was a reflection on the power of serendipity, identity, and maintaining relationships. Allie blew me away as she reflected on the identity she was raised with and how that can be both our blessing and our curse. I don’t hear a lot of people acknowledge that.Episode 8: To round out the season, I sat down with my close friend and fellow deep thinker, Rebecca Allen (IG @rebeccaallenny). Hearing two friends catch up feels like a warm hug - at least so I’ve heard! We talk about finding balance as we literally attempt it through a game of Jenga. Religion and parenting are key topics we dive into.
In the month of August, new content will be on hiatus as I launch the series across audio-only platforms (Spotify, Apple Podcast and here on Substack are live!!) and continue to build our audience via YouTube Shorts.
